Does Your Physical Health Make You Attractive?

Leave it to me to ask the questions people are too afraid to ask. And definitely leave it to me to share the data/responses.

Someone asked me to ask women how important fitness, finances and social status was to them in a partner. Well, now I personally want to know how important these things are to men. So I made these questions open all via our instagram community.

I decided to break these topics up into three different articles. Trust me, it’s much easier to digest this way. Here are the findings from men and women on the importance of their partner being in good shape:

Based on 229 men and women who voted, aged 18-38

Women:
72% of women who voted said that it’s important for their partner to be in good shape.
28% of women who voted said that it’s not important for their partner to be in good shape.

Men:
88% of men who voted said that it’s important for their partner to be in good shape.
12% of men who voted said that it’s not important for their partner to be in good shape.

Sooo… Yeah. Based on the data, people do care about their partner’s physical health/fitness levels/appearance (call it what you want). PSA: You should NEVER change yourself because someone else wants you to. Something I deeply value is feeling good. The things that make me feel good add to my overall well-being including my physical health. If you need some help on getting clear on your own values or if you need some motivation, read this article.

Lastly, I want to mention that a few people privately messaged me and said they don’t need their partner to be obsessively working out, or even be insanely muscular with ‘washboard abs’. It’s more about having a partner that takes care of themselves and isn’t eating junk food all the time.
